The basic requirements to be in accounting are, of course, educational qualifications and requisite experience. While there is no pre-requisite of a qualification to be employed as accounting staff, most companies look for a Bachelor’s degree with a major in accounting at the entry-level. A CA or
CPA qualification is a good addition to the skillset and will increase opportunities to grow. Experience in the field adds to the skills and expertise to make it in the profession. In my opinion, aptitude skills that make a great accountant are attention to detail, fastidiousness, a sense of propriety, and integrity. The accounting/Finance department is said to be a conscience keeper of the organization.
